Bear 71," a documentary by the National Film Board of Canada, is a first-person narrative by a grizzly bear in Banff National Park, voiced by Mia Kirschner. It explores the intersection of the natural and digital worlds, highlighting the constant surveillance of wildlife through tracking and CCTV. Co-creators Jeremy Mendes and Leanne Allison use an interactive interface to depict animals' movements and the invasive presence of human infrastructure. The piece also involves live tracking of viewers, blending their images with surveillance footage of Banff's wildlife. Premiering at Sundance Film Festival, it offered an immersive experience through iPads at interactive installations.
